Halloween Makeup Ideas: Sexy Witch and Spooky Vampire
Here’s how to perfect your sexy scary witch or spooky vampire beauty look this year.
If you’re going for a classic Halloween look, then you need to make sure it’s eye-catching nonetheless. Here’s how to get started…
While buying a ready-made mask may be the easier option, it’s certainly not the most comfortable nor the most fun. For us beauty experimentalists, Halloween is the one day we can go spookily over the top with our make-up routines.
So, if you’ve skipped the over-complicated costumes this year, here’s how to get those classic scary witch and spooky vampire looks spot on.
Halloween Makeup Ideas: Sexy Witch
If you’re going all out with being the sexiest scariest witch around this Halloween, you may want to invest in some gruesomely green face paint.
Get to the best start by giving your skin a thorough exfoliation and follow up with your favourite matte-moisturiser.
Prep clean and clear skin with a primer, which will ensure all your ghoulish make-up is held in place as you hit the dance floor.
Next, to get the most from your bold green base, use a makeup sponge to first create a thin layer covering your face and neck. Then add extra layers in smaller, thicker strokes across your complexion until you’ve built your perfectly bold and not-so-beautiful green base.
Don’t fancy the classic witchy green hue? Use a foundation a few shades lighter than your natural tone and apply several layers to create a thick base, ensuring an even tone. Either way, dust over the finished look with BareFace minerals® Translucent Powder Veil focusing on oil prone zones to help set the base in place.
After you’ve filled your pout with a rich matte red lipstick, trace just over your lip line with a jet-black eyeliner and gently blend the line inwards for a terrifyingly alluring look.
Dust again with our finishing Translucent Powder Veil
For your peepers, try a bewitching pair of false lashes teamed with a coat of our Natural Mineral Eye Shadow in shade Ana across your eyelid.
Finally, up the creepiness by drawing an eerie cobweb expanding off the side of one eye, and a delicate little spider on the lower side of your opposite cheek.
For ultimate precision, opt for a liquid liner for these finishing touches.
Halloween Makeup Ideas: Spooky Vampire
To transform into a terrifying vampire, start your base in the same way as you would with the scary witch (described above) but swap out the green for white face paint.
If you don’t fancy slathering your skin in the stuff, you can focus on just using white face paint tracing around the outer brow bone around over the cheek bones. Then use our Natural Face Highlighter, over the top for an added iridescent, otherworldly glow.
For your lippie - opt for a super intense plum shade, or black if you’re daring enough, and then etch a drip of blood from one corner of your mouth with red liner, filling in with a dark red lipstick.
Use our Natural Eye Shadows in hues Morgan, Veronica and Patricia to create the perfect Halloween-esque smokey eye to match.
Cover the entire eye lids in the lightest shade, Morgan, and create a triangle shape from the outwards corner of your eye thinning inwards with the darkest colour, Patricia. Blend over the two using your medium shadow, Veronica.
Complete your spooky smokey look by enclosing each eye with a thick line of Natural Mineral Liner in blue-grey.
Finish by layering several coats of mascara for your eye-popping vampy-glam look.
